About the Day
You’ll begin the morning with tea in the orchard, talking through the life of a honeybee and the rhythm of the hive. Then, suited up and guided carefully, you’ll step into the apiary.
This is a steady introduction to a craft that rewards patience and attentiveness. You’ll learn to read a frame, recognise brood and pollen stores, and understand the quiet signals of a healthy colony.
We’ll end the day with a simple shared lunch and a tasting of honey gathered from the hives

Thomas has kept bees for over fifteen years, beginning with two hives at the end of his garden and slowly expanding to a small apiary across several local orchards. His approach is steady, thoughtful and rooted in observation rather than intervention.
